A chubby little bunny brooch from Margot de Taxco. This sweet rabbit looks a lot like Beatrix Potter's character Flopsy Bunny. Silver, red, and white champlevé enamel is applied to sterling silver; she wears a little red coat over her fluffy white fur. She is adorable, with a shy face and tiny shoes peeking out from under her chonky belly. This brooch fastens with a security clasp. The back is stamped "Margot de Taxco," "Made in Mexico Sterling," and the Mexican Eagle 16 sterling mark. It is also marked with the design number 5422. Margot de Taxco designs were numbered 5100 to 5790, so this is her 322nd design. This piece was made around 1948, at the height of her career.
